Please keep animals warm, dark, quiet. Place in box with towel underneath. For injured birds use a second towel to make a donut and place bird in middle for support.

Mission Statement:

To provide a point of contact for the public for any wildlife emergency.
To facilitate rescue, triage and timely transfer to the appropriate veterinarian, care facility or rehabilitation facility.

Teamwork

Our aim is to help you to help the animal as fast as possible. For injured wildlife time is critical. (Never touch or handle bats).
We are a local point of contact for DES for Sea Turtles.
We work with local, State and Interstate (e.g. for migratory birds) specialists to achieve best outcomes for our wildlife.

PDWR is guided by the Code of Practice: Care of Sick, Injured or Orphaned Protected Animals in Queensland, Nature Conservation Act 1992.
